Reality competition series host Tyra Banks of CW’s America’s Next Top Model has recently cut professional strings with her manager, Benny Medina.

Medina said in a joint statement that his company, Handprint Entertainment, will no longer be handling Banks’ career, however, he is positive that the two will still work together in future efforts.

“Tyra Banks is a highly regarded artist, entrepreneur and producer, and I respect her vision for developing her own bankable brand,” said the joint statement. “Tyra and Handprint Entertainment look forward to the opportunity to work together on existing or new ventures. This is a great thing for everyone involved.”

Telepictures, which syndicates Tyra Banks’ talk show, had a source talk to New York Daily News and said that the 33-year-old former supermodel cut ties with Medina because she was tired of his suggestions and demands.

“His perk list is bigger than hers. Everything from private jets and votive candles that the staff has to light before he gets to the set. He forgot who the star was,” the source explained.

However, a representative of the same company countered these arguments by saying that Medina will still be part of Banks’ career.

“We have a good relationship with Benny, and we appreciate his contributions to the show. He will continue as an executive consultant on the show,” the representative said.

On another note, other reports say that Banks’ new boyfriend, investment manager John Utendahl, had something to do with Medina’s firing. A close friend of Banks denied these speculations.

“John had nothing to do with this,” the friend said.

Parting ways with her manager did not have a negative effect on the former supermodel’s career as her successful reality series, America’s Next Top Model, has been renewed for at least six more cycles. Moreover, her talk show, Tyra, will be premiering its new season on September 10.

The ninth cycle of America’s Next Top Model will be aired on September 19, with an hour long premiere, as opposed to the previous seasons’ two hour premiere episodes. The network decided to cut it off to make way for the series debut of Gossip Girl.

America’s Next Top Model has become a launching point for model wannabes who aspire to get a taste of the spotlight even with their inclusion on the competitive reality show. Of course, many participants would want to be crowned as the next Top Model and even go beyond the fame of the being hailed the winner of the program, as it entails great prizes that would definitely help boost a career in the modeling world such as a representation from a renowned modeling agency, a spread in a notable magazine and a contract with CoverGirl cosmetics. Given the exposure from the show, does America’s Next Top Model really certify a modeling career?

Although America’s Next Top Model does not guarantee its winners a successful modeling career, many hopefuls, participants and most especially the winners are eager to be headed towards a glamorous life. In the case of Top Model cycle one winner Adrianne Curry, her exposure on the show has proved to be highly advantageous. She has acquired a number of modeling gigs and has graced various magazines. She also appeared on commercials, television series, game shows and reality shows, and is now a host of an online radio show.

Eva Pigford, America’s Next Top Model cycle three winner, has also had a lucrative career after her stint on the competitive reality show. Aside from her prizes on Top Model, she appeared on the cover of many magazines such as Brides Noir, Woman’s Health and Fitness, King Magazine and Essence magazine.

She also represented brands like DKNY, Samsung, and Red by Marc Ecko. In addition, she also guest starred on several television programs and has worked in films like The Walk, Crossover, and is currently preoccupied with shooting another movie with Chris Rock.

While these two models prove that there can be success after America’s Next Top Model, people will just have to wait and see if other Top Model winners will have the same fate.

Planning a new job or career move in 2008? Whether you are new graduate looking for the best match for your degree, a laid-off middle manager or just an hourly employee who’s tired of you current job, it would pay to do some research and planning before you make a career move in 2008. Globalism and the international marketplace are affecting great changes in America’s workforce. Manufacturing the one sector of America’s economy that is perhaps most negatively effected by the forces of globalism. With the outsourcing of so many American manufacturing jobs overseas, and the moving of factories to foreign states, careers associated with manufacturing like industrial electricians, mechanical engineers, and quality control technicians are experiencing a decline.

Other career fields are experiencing an increasing demand for workers however, among these are health care workers, dental technicians, marketing professionals and translators. With the changing global economy it is important to be aware of what factors are at work and what trends are driving demand for workers in business sectors that are currently expanding.

In addition to these considerations, it would be a good idea to asses, or re-asses your personal goals, interests, talents, training and abilities. We all have a fairly good idea of what we are good at, and what we are interested in, but many times interest and aptitude tests can reveal a hidden passion or talent that we may not fully realize we had. If you discover some hidden potential or interest within yourself, such information would be valuable indeed when considering possible future career paths.

Here’s a great website to take free aptitude, interest and IQ tests: http://web.tickle.com/take/free-online-career-aptitude-test.jsp

It’s tough finding a job these days, no doubt, but it’s very important to be persistent, and stay focused. You may have to make some compromises along the way - accept a lower paying job in a related field, or go back to school for more training, but as long as you don’t give up - you’re never defeated. Keep hammering away, make adjustments to your plans when necessary, continue to gather information about opportunities and your own abilities and the payoff, (or payday), will come eventually.

One thing to consider also - ideas for low, or even no-investment businesses have absolutely NOT been exhausted. People are constantly inventing new niche markets or finding a need that can be serviced for a profit. Many people are finding sustainable careers nowadays in everything from home day care to college resume and fax services to independent web design and marketing. So consider… do you have a talent or ability that you could market? Can you see a need for a service you can provide to your local community? Many people are currently making incredible incomes from things they started on a whim or hunch part time that somehow turned into a rewarding full-time career. One thing in common with many such success stories is the fact that the individuals involved started doing something that they enjoyed or had an intense interest in, therefore they had a driving force other than just money to propel them toward a goal that often-times developed along the way.

Most people are aware of the fact that on an average, surgeons earn an estimated sum of $189,590 annually. The hefty package is the result of the in-depth knowledge and expertise involved in this profession. However, surveys reveal that assistants of physicians also earn around $63,490 per annum. Surveys have often been conducted to determine the top paying careers in the United States.

Top Paying Careers:

a. Surgeons And Health Care Professionals - According to most surveys, surgeons always lead the list of highest paying jobs, followed by anesthesiologists whose annual income amounts to around $181,420. Tagging along are gynecologists and obstetricians who as per survey, earn about $179,640 annually, while dentists earn around $133,350. It is evident from surveys that most highly paid professionals belong to the field of health and medicine with the exception of CEOs who are ranked in the 8th position among top ten careers.

b. Personal Financial Advisors - Another lucrative career option is that of Personal financial advisors. However, in most surveys they fail to find a place in the list of top ten owing to their highly fluctuating incomes. It is estimated that the annual income of a successful personal financial advisor is around $145,000. On the other hand, an average financial advisor may earn only around $28,330 per year. Some of the factors that contribute to this immense income variation are high growth potential, rapid economic growth and finally, the educational index that this profession demands.

c. Medical Scientists - The estimated average annual income of Medical Scientists is approximately $100,000, which might seem to be a paltry amount against their educational qualifications (doctoral degrees). However, they lead the list of other careers such as podiatrists, whose estimated income is $94,500, lawyers with an estimated average annual income of $91,920, optometrists earning $88,100 and other computer and information systems managers who earn approximately $83,890 annually.

d. Marketing And Sales Managers - Statistics reveal that the estimated annual income of sales and marketing managers is around $80,000.

According to The Bureau of Labor Statistics National Compensation Survey, estimated average white-collar earnings were around $21.85 per hour, estimated average blue-collar earnings were approximately $15.03 per hour, while the average earnings per hour for service occupations were only about $10.40. To obtain higher incomes, most top-end careers require a four-year college degree.

As per the information obtained from Employment Policy Foundation, listed below are some of the career options at varying levels of education:

a. Top Paying Careers For Individuals Who Do Not Have A High School Degree -

Drafters - $36,000

Industrial production managers - $36,000

Bailiffs, correctional officers and jailers - $36,400

Construction manager - $33,600

Electricians - $31,900

b. High Paying Jobs For High School Graduates -

Listed below are some of the career options that lay more emphasis on relevant expertise and experience instead of formal education:

Computer programmers - $55,000

Network systems and data communications analysts - $49,000

Database, network and computer systems administrators - $48,000

Although a large number of jobs and professions require specialization and expertise in relevant field, it is possible to apply for some jobs after satisfying basic criteria of qualifications. For instance, individuals applying for the job of an air traffic controller are screened and recruited by the Federal Aviation Administration.

In United states of America and other places of the world thee are some of the non profit making Organisations.Among them are Young men ’sChristian Association and Young women,s Chrishtian Association which gives a special importance to increase opportunities for mean and also for women irrespective of age and gender.. For working families they provide child care and for adults they provide job openings.Part of their agenda is to encourage the physical, emotional and spriitual growth through the activities of body and mind.

Centers for learning and career development provide certain exercises for young adults as well as the aged ones. Some people are paid for their works whereas others simply volunteer. Every aid acts as a mentor for children as well as for adults who require their services.Resposibility, honesty, respect and to be of caring nature is taught to all the staff members.

Similar to YMCA AND YWMCA there are other centers for career development and also for learning and is absolutely free and have low fee structure for public. They cover skills that are required in professional careers like cardiopulmonary resuscitation or fitness and recreation, or like basketball, volleyball, exercise programs, kickboxing and aerobics.

There are programs for people who are with learning disablitites which is insisted upon by directors of career development and learning centers.

Some universities and also few institutions have online courses offered to the students which include career development and learning studies .There are also some non credit classes for public along with traditional and vocational courses. The noncredit courses unlike credit courses usually run for few weeks and have a small fee. Universities and colleges offer fewer courses when compared to the public centers for family.

With the kind of ever growing population in the United States of America, there is a great need for these centers like career development and learning centers to mend cause awareness and educate local populations. There already are few centers which are meant for children ,centers meant for adults only in order to provide job openings, or personality improvement etc. There are also centers meant only for families to get educated together and very much together in this ever changing world.

To find a center for career development and learning, in the area you are located, try to look for in local phone books, or directors .You can also find this information online for your hometown. Find out the information online as in how to go about joining .In case you want to teach, you can become a mentor, be caring with the right attitude and work with others in a friendly manner.
